New Years, 2 months, and 2 years

So this is catch up and it is going to be long. So consider yourself warned.
For New Years my family always had the Baskin Robbins clown cones. Unfortunately, here in New York, no one knows what they are and they don't have them on hand, so we had to make our own this year. They don't look perfect, but Porter couldn't tell the difference. He was just happy to get ice cream. We also started a new family tradition where we have buffalo wings, fried mozzarella sticks, shrimp, and a cheese log with crackers, and of course...Martinelli's. This is Porter trying to be patient for mom to say it was ok for him to have his ice cream.

I decided as one of my New Year's resolutions that I wanted to do more fun things with Porter so he can have mommy time when Adie is sleeping that would be special for us. We made a lion mask and as you can tell Porter had a lot of fun.

Adie turned 2 months on the 15th. We can't believe how fast time has flown. She is getting so big. She is 12 lbs. 3.5 oz. and 24" long. She also has a lot of control of her head. When she has tummy time she holds herself up and looks at the toys around her or watches her brother play. She smiles all the time and has started to carry on conversations with us with her cooing. She is very soft spoken unless she is upset. She even likes to scoot around in her crib so that her head is up against the bumper. We definitely love having her in our family and Porter can't get enough of her. It is so much fun to see your children love each other.

Porter also turned 2 today. It was so much fun for me as a mom to watch him and celebrate his birthday. Of course he doesn't understand that it is his birthday but we had a little party anyway. We invited some of his little friends from nursery and he had a blast. When the first child showed up Porter was so excited he didn't know what to do with himself. I think I need to invite kids over more often. Anyway, we had a hippo party so I tried to get creative and made a hippo cake. It was a lot of fun and turned out better than I thought. The grey icing was a little gross to make just because it looks funny as your mixing it. But it was fun ust the same. And Porter ate all of his piece with ice cream and was so excited about the fire on his cake. Unfortunately I think the singing embarassed him or something because he started crying when we started singing. Go figure.
He also learned his ABC's and how to count to 10. It is so much fun because now he says them all the time. Here are some video's of him saying them. He was a little distracted so you might have to listen hard to hear what he is saying.
